Alind Sahay is a medical device executive with a diverse background in areas such as image-based robotics, cardio-vascular systems development, energy-based systems and sterilization systems. Alind is currently Vice-President of R&D at Noxilizer Inc, where he is responsible for sterilization instruments development.
Alind started his career in medical devices at Integrated Surgical (now Think Surgical), developers of the ROBODOC system and led the R&D effort that resulted in minimally invasive robotic cutting technologies and optimized robotic bone cutting algorithm. Following that, Alind joined GE Healthcare where his program leadership role led to a GE Management award. At Terumo Cardiovascular, Alind set up a global R&D organization for development of heart lung machines, patient monitoring systems, data management systems and vein harvesting systems. Prior to his current assignment, Alind led the corporate R&D function at Endo Pharma for energy based devices with responsibility for the Healthtronics division energy-based devices R&D as well as technology-based value creation through licensing, M&A and organic growth. Alind has a number of patents and publications in these areas.
Alind has a strong interest in entrepreneurship and co-ordinates effort to fund IIT-Kanpur based startups through his batch fund. He has worked with US university based start-ups to develop business plans and procure seed funding. Alind has an MBA from UC Berkeley and is also a member of the UC Berekeley Haas School of Business NYC chapter alumni board.
